Details for Pikey Peak Trek

The main interest of this trekking is the sunrise hike at Pikey Peak at 4,065 meters above sea level. Pikey Peak has been considered one of the finest viewpoints in the lower region of Everest and offers an unforgettable panorama of the Himalayan ranges. An early morning ascent allows the trekkers to witness the first rays of the sun painting the peaks a golden and pinkish hue – a sight that will be etched in memory long after the journey ends. Your route crosses into the rhododendron forests and traditional villages for views into daily activities and the warm welcomes of the local people. Other key stops will include Jhapre, with its cultural heritage; Junbesi, a charming Sherpa village along the historic Everest trail that will add greater depth and authenticity to your trek.

Beyond the natural beauty, the Pikey Peak Trek stands out for its cultural richness and the opportunity to explore lesser-known routes away from the crowds. You’ll encounter ancient monasteries, terraced fields, and traditional Sherpa settlements, gaining insight into the spiritual and cultural fabric of the region. The trek is moderately difficult and hence ideal for both the amateur and serious trekkers seeking something less chaotic compared to Everest Base Camp. This trek will ultimately end in Phaplu, where you fly or drive back to Kathmandu, leaving you with a great feeling of accomplishment and a deep connection to the landscapes and people of Nepal’s Everest region.
