During this short trek you will get the opportunity to explore the popular heritage sites lies inside and near the Kathmandu valley. You will experience the ancient culture, tradition and lifestyle of the Nepalese people just outside the valley. This short trek also provides the picturesque view of snowy mountains like Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Dorje lakpa and Gaurishankar. This trek is specially designed for family group with children and old age people.


Itinerary
Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m/4,428ft)

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be welcomed by a beautiful garland of seasonal flowers at the gate of the International Arrival Terminal.

With the final counting and loading of luggage into the vehicle, you will be transferred to the hotel and check in.

After welcome refreshments, there will be a short briefing with the Himalayan Holidays Representative. You get general information and orientation about the trek.

Then you have free time in Kathmandu. You can explore the city.

In the evening – welcome dinner and traditional show in an authentic Nepali restaurant in Kathmandu. You will enjoy your dinner with different types of dances.

The main products of Nepalese cuisine are – rice, wheat, lentils, fresh vegetables and, sometimes, meat. Local chefs turn these ingenious products into pieces of culinary art, dazzling taste, teasing with smell, causing delight of any enthusiast. Food in Nepal is a meal worthy of kings. Very tasty, very spicy, and very diverse– these are the three main features of Nepalese cuisine. This is beyond words. You have to try it!

Day 02

Sightseeing tour at UNESCO's World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu City

After breakfast, proceed for a sightseeing tour of World Heritage Sites including,

Pashupatinath Temple – The holiest of them all, the temple of Lord Shiva the Pashupatinath Temple is one of the biggest dhams for Hindus. Every Hindu cherishes a visit to this hallowed place at least once in a lifetime.

Bouddhanath Stupa: The first stupa at Bouddhanath was built sometime after AD 600, when the Tibetan king, Songtsen Gampo, converted to Buddhism. In terms of grace and purity of line, no other stupa in Nepal comes close to Bouddhanath.

Hanuman Dhoka (Kathmandu Durbar Square) – an ancient durbar (palace) with numerous old palaces, temples and pagodas, the Temple of Living Goddess “Kumari”, and the Kasthamandap Temple. We can also take you on a walk through the very busy & interesting traditional market of Asan & Indrachok. And visit Thamel Bazaar for shopping or enjoy the tourist Market.

After the tour return to the hotel for rest and refreshments, bag packing, personal activities, etc.

Day 03

Drive to Sundarijal (1,465m) – 45 minutes and trek to Chisapani (2,165m/7,102ft) - 5 hours

After breakfast, start driving to Sundarijal, the trek starting point. Walking on plain trails for about an hour, we will slowly gain elevation and with that will be able to see the first sights of the mountains to the north (– Subject to the weather permitting). Well, pace our walk to enjoy the local culture and hospitality. The lifestyle is very much traditional and walking through the forest will give you an essence of wilderness and natural beauty. The wonderful chirping of the birds in the area will further enhance on trekking experience. Upon arrival in Chisapani, check into the lodge.

Day 04

Trek to Nagarkot (2,150m/7,052ft) - 6 Hours

After breakfast, start the trek to Nagarkot in the morning after watching the sunrise over the Himalayan Range. Taking pleasant trails through forests and along the route will be able to marvel at the views of the Mountains. After about six hours of hiking, we reach the famed hill station of Nagarkot, which is surrounded by gorgeous hills and from where you get unobstructed views of the mountains from the Everest region to the east and Dhaulagiri to the West.

Day 05

Trek to Dhulikhel (1,550m/5,084ft) – 5 Hours

Early morning wake up to see the sunrise view of the Eastern Himalayan Range such as Mt. Langtang, Mt. Everest, Mt. Ganesh, etc – (Subject to the weather permitting). After breakfast, we start our trek towards Dhulikhel which lies in the southern part of Kathmandu Valley. Walking through the lush green forest and the green hills, we reach Dhulikhel in about 5 hours. En route, we can enjoy a multitude of cultural diversities, traditional lifestyles, greenery and natural beauty. Dhulikhel is also a paradise for tourists and nature lovers. Upon arrival in Dhulikhel, check into the hotel.

Day 06

Trek to Panauti via Namobuddha (1,750m/5,740ft.) - 5 Hours

After having breakfast and checking out from the hotel, start the trek towards Namobuddha. This trek goes through the Newar community along the historical houses and ancient monuments. This route leads us to Dhulikhel height through 1000 steps. From the top, we can see the panoramic view of the mountains and the beauty of the Himalayan ranges. Walking through the village area and the green hills, we reach Namobuddha in about 3-4 hours and explore it. And trek down to Panauti, an ancient Newari Town. Upon arrival in Panauti, check into the Homestay.

Day 07

Drive to Kathmandu en route visit Bhaktapur.

After breakfast, start driving to Kathmandu which takes about 2 hours. En-route stop in ancient Bhaktapur City, literally the “City of Devotees”, is renowned for its elegant art, fabulous culture, colourful festivals, traditional dances and the typical Newari lifestyle. Here explore the Royal Palace, the Golden Gate, and the entrance to the Palace of 55 Windows, known as the most significant piece of art in Nepal. Then visit the highest temple in the entire Kathmandu Valley- the Nyatapola Temple. This is also listed on a UNESCO world-heritage site.  After the sightseeing tour drive to the hotel and check into the room.

Day 08

Final Departure from Nepal

Timely transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport to board an onward flight to home country 3 hours earlier than the scheduled departure time. We wish you a happy journey during your flight from Nepal to your home country with the hope of seeing you on your next visit to Nepal.
