Employment and income generation, earning of foreign exchange, sponsorship of local community and most of all, and poverty alleviation are the most often conjured goals of tourism development.

Himalayan Holidays (P) Ltd. was established in 1990 A.D. with the objective of providing adventure tours and treks to the inbound tourists in Nepal and with the complete authority to operate and promote outbound tours to India, Sikkim, Bhutan, Tibet and countries around the world. We have come a long way since our establishment in 1990 and we have proudly earned ourselves the reputation as one of the “well estab1ished” Adventure Travel Organizations in the entire South Asia.

As travelers seek authentic and immersive experiences, sustainable and responsible tourism practices are gaining momentum, emphasizing the importance of preserving the environment and respecting the unique heritage of each destination.

The COVID-19 pandemic brought unprecedented challenges to the travel and tourism industry, temporarily halting international travel, and causing disruptions on a global scale. However, the world has shown resilience and adaptability in the face of these challenges. As vaccinations become more widespread, many countries have gradually reopened their borders, sparking hope for a revival of the travel sector. The pandemic has also accelerated changes in the way people travel, with a heightened focus on health and safety measures, including sanitation protocols and vaccination requirements. Moreover, travelers are now more inclined to explore less crowded, off-the-beaten-path destinations, fostering a shift towards sustainable and nature-based tourism. With a renewed appreciation for the beauty of the world and a growing desire to reconnect with loved ones and new experiences, travel and tourism continue to be a vital force in shaping our global society and offering opportunities for personal growth and cultural exchange.

Study tour with trekking for the Visually Challenged clients from Tokyo Helen Keller Association. Study tour with trekking for the Visually Challenged clients .

1991

Fully organized a 4 month long Petroleum Exploration Expedition in Nepal for the Pan Canadian Petroleum by providing complete logistics support starting from far-western Nepal to far-western region of Udaypur.

1992 - 2007

Helped co-found Himalayan HealthCare Inc., a New York and Kathmandu based not for profit organization specializing in medical outreach projects and camps. We provided complete logistics support for over 70 medical outreach expeditions till 2007!  

1994

Complete logistical support for Lipton Tea commercial with Hollywood star Tom Selleck.

1998

Extreme Everest Expedition (E-3) - A high altitude research expedition to Mt. Everest jointly organized with The Explorers Club of NY, NASA, Yale, MIT, AT&T, Lucient Technologies, Walter Reed Medical Hospital - US Army and Himalayan Healthcare. We provided complete logistical support from Kathmandu to Mount Everest for 16 American adventurers, climbers, researchers, scientists, doctors and nurses.

1999

Fully organized the Mount Kailash Tibet trip for Chairman of ICI Paints, CEO of Ranbaxy Mr. Daljit Singh (better known as the first Indian Shotput Olympic Gold Medallist) and friend Mr. Ajeet Bajaj – CEO of Snow Leopard Adventures and the first Indian to reach the north and south Poles within one year!!!

1999

Extreme Everest Expedition (E-3) No 2 with The Explorers Club, NASA, Yale, Olympus America, Himalayan Healthcare, Millennium Healthcare Solutions, etc.  

2000

Mount Kailash documentary film shoot of The Sakadawa Festival with world famous German documentary Film maker Mr. Werner Herzog (nominated for Oscar) and his wife.

2001

Crypto Zoological Research Expedition titled "On the Footsteps of Tom Slick" the Texan Oil Tycoon who spent his billions on research of the unknown including the Lochness Monster, the Big Foot, the Ape Man of China and the Abominable Snowman or the Yeti of the Himalayas. The expedition was The Explorers Club's Flag Expedition No 117 and Tom Slick, who died in a mysterious plane crash, his niece Catherine Cooke was leading the said expedition. Catherine Cooke is a dear friend of Himalayan Holidays and her book titled "Monster Hunter" has been ear-marked for a Hollywood Movie with renowned actor Nicholas Cage portraying the late Tom Slick himself!!

2001

Everest Base Camp Trek for 41 charity challengers from the Dubai, UAE based charitable organization "GULF 4 GOOD" who helped to complete the Dr. Megh Bahadur Parajuli Hospital in far-eastern Nepal started and run by Himalayan Healthcare. The group helped raise US$ 130k for the said hospital !

2006

Everest Base Camp charity challenge trek for G4G again in aid of the 2nd Phase of the Ilam Hospital and an orphanage in Kathmandu.

2007

Everest Sherpa Villages trek for Mr. Ajeet Bajaj, Mr. Vikram and Mrs. Geetanjali Kirloskar - Managing Director of Vijaya Motors (TOYOTA India).

2008

Annapurna Trek for Late Mr. & Mrs. Kirloskar (Managing Director of Vijaya Motors India (Toyota India)) and their daughter Ms Manshi.

2008

Lhasa to Mt. Everest (northern base camp) overland trip for Mrs. Parameswor Godrej (owner of Godrej steel cabinets, lockers, etc.) and family.  

2009

Everest Base Camp Trek for The English College Dubai who helped raised $ 50k to purchase land for the Mission Himalaya run Eco Home and Farm for orphaned children that we built and are currently running.  

2009

Annapurna Circuit Trek for G4G (Gulf for Good) to help raise funds for the construction of the Mission Himalaya Eco Farm Home for orphaned children.

2010

UAE Military's first Himalayan Expedition - the climbing of Mount Imja Tse (Island Peak) in Solu Khumbu region.

2010

Annapurna Base Camp Trek and Eye & Medical Camp at Pema Tsal Monastic Institute with joint collaboration with Himalayan Eye Hospital, Dooley In termed Foundation and Mission Himalaya.

Successfully organized the then newly opened Mt. Seribung Expedition in Upper Mustang region.

2011

UAE Military's first historical Around Annapurna Circuit Mountain Biking Expedition (26 days).

2011

The first ever historical Eye & Medical Expedition to the "restricted Upper Mustang Region" organized by Dooley Inter med Foundation, NY, Himalayan Eye Hospital, Mission Himalaya and Pema Tsal Monastery. Please check out the documentary "VISIONS OF MUSTANG" on you tube.

Operation Restore Vision - a New York Eye & Ear Infirmary project combined with Himalayan Eye Hospital.

Everest Base Camp Charity Challenge Trek for Gulf 4 Good, Dubai in support of Mission Himalaya Eco Home and Farm for orphaned children.

Everest Base Camp Trek for The English College Dubai –in its fund raising initiatives for the Mission Himalaya Eco Home and Farm project.

The Edge Picture UK - documentary film shooting at Sikles Village of Annapurna Region.

The Lower Mustang Eye Expedition with Dooley Interned Foundation, Himalayan Eye Hospital, Pema Tsal Monastic Institute and Mission Himalaya.

Provided complete logistic support to Vijayanti / Swopna Movies from Hyderabad India for the shooting of Feature movie – Yvade Subramanium in Mt. Everest Region.  

2015

With cooperation with Fly Dubai – Russia, we organized Nepal promotional FAM trip for 10 active Adventure / Leisure tour operators from different cities of Russia.

2015

After the devastating Earthquake on 25th April & 12th May – Himalayan Holidays Team was actively involved for different Search, Rescue, Relief and Reconstruction works in 14 different districts of Nepal which are severely affected by the big Earthquakes of April 25th and May 12th 2015 !  

2015

Organized the Nepal Promotional media FAM trip for National Geographic Russia – www.nat-geo.ru & National Geographic Travellers – Russia.  

2016

In April / May 2016 we successfully organized the historical Mt. Everest filming expedition for National Geographic UAE. A famous High Altitude cinematographers David Rusmussen and Mr. Mark Whetu. Later David Rasmussen along with two Sherpa Assistants from Himalayan Holidays summitted Mount Everest and shot the film.

2016

Himalayan Holidays added its biggest feather on its hat by successfully organizing and executing the historical Mount. Everest Expedition for the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces that saw eight members of the Military team including HRH Prince Theyab Khalifa Hamdan of UAE and eight Sherpas and support team members successfully scale Mount Everest on 19th May' 2016. The team were given a red carpet heros welcome by HRH the Sheikh Mohammed the President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, UAE upon their return back home.

In June we organized the Luxury Travel Media FAM Trip for Media Delegates from famed travel media house of Russia such as In Style magazine, Discovery magazine, Radio 7 on-line blog, Risk.ru, Radio Shokolad, etc.

2017

Eye & Medical Expedition to the Upper Gorkha Region" organized by Dooley Intermed Foundation, NY, Himalayan Eye Hospital, Mission Himalaya and Pema Tsal Monastery
