Festival Tour In Bhutan

The kingdom of Bhutan is popular for ancient Buddhist culture so many religious festivals are celebrated and known as ‘Tshechu’. Tshechu’s are celebrated to honor Guru Rinpoche, who introduced Buddhism to Bhutan in 8th century. Tshechu means the 10th day of a month in Bhutanese lunar calendar, so festivals are held from 10th day of auspicious Bhutanese months. During Tsechus religious mask dances and folk dances are performed. The famous festivals are the Paro festival in spring and Thimphu festival in autumn however every region and villages holds its own Tshechu at different time of the year.
