Winter (December to February)
Being colder, they provide better clarity and fewer people. If you are well-equipped for the chill, you’ll gain tranquility in the landscape and superb visibility of snow-laden peaks. The landscapes are serene, and the snow-covered peaks offer excellent visibility.
Monsoon (June to August)
Helicopter tours during monsoons are rarely advisable because of unpredictable weather, low visibility, and frequent cancellations or delays of flights.

Yes, the tour is completely safe when operated by licensed companies and experienced pilots. All helicopters undergo regular maintenance and are equipped with oxygen systems, experienced captains, and communication equipment designed for high-altitude flights.
The best times for the EBC helicopter tour are spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November). These months offer clear skies, stable weather, and excellent mountain visibility. Early morning flights are preferred to avoid wind and cloud buildup.
The helicopter flies up to 5,545 meters (18,192 feet), reaching Kala Patthar Viewpoint, which offers the closest and most spectacular view of Mount Everest.
Helicopters usually land at Kala Patthar instead of the actual base camp. This is because landing at Everest Base Camp is restricted and often covered with ice or expedition tents. From Kala Patthar, you’ll enjoy unobstructed views of Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse.
The cost depends on whether you choose a shared or private flight.

Yes, most tours include a stop at the Everest View Hotel (3,880m) in Syangboche, where you can enjoy breakfast with an incredible view of Mount Everest.

Absolutely. The tour is suitable for all age groups since there’s minimal physical activity involved. However, people with heart or respiratory issues should consult a doctor before flying to high altitude.
The helicopter doesn’t stay long at high altitudes (usually 10–15 minutes at Kala Patthar), so the risk of altitude sickness is very low. Still, drink plenty of water and avoid sudden exertion.
If weather conditions are poor, the flight will be rescheduled or refunded, depending on your operator’s policy. Safety is always the top priority.
