The community of Sherpas, Tamangs, Chettries, Brahmins and their warm welcoming nature, custom and traditions makes this trek different from others. This region is populated by a unique clan of Sherpas, who loves to call themselves as Yolmo, and believed to be Tibetan descendent.

This rewarding helambu circuit trek basically starts from Sundarijal (1460m) and goes through kutumsang, Thadepati Pass, Melamchigaon, Tarkeghyang and ends at Melamchi Pul Bazaar. 


Itinerary
Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu (1400m/4593ft)

Upon arrival in Katmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport, meet, assist and transfer to hotel. After welcome refreshments and room check in the hotel, there will be a short briefing and orientation about the trek

Eve: Trip briefing followed by welcome dinner at Authentic Nepali restaurant with culture program.

Day 02

Drive to Sundarijal (1460m/4790ft) – 1 hr, Hike to Chisapani (2165m/ 7103ft) – 4 hrs

After breakfast, 1 hr drive to Sundarijal, north corner of Kathmandu valley. Start trekking by entering Shivapuri National Park. Walk all the way uphill reaching Mulkharka, where we will have short break. Continue walking through thick forest of Shivapuri till we reach Chisapani for overnight.

Day 03

Trek from Chisapani to Kutumsang (2470m/8103ft) – 7 hrs

After breakfast, continue our trek by descending down till Pati Bhanjyang (1830m). On the way, you will come across the beautiful panoramic view of mountains on your North. We will pass various villages like Thankune Bhanjyang, Chiplin and Gul Bhanjyang where we will stop for our breaks and eventually reach Kutumsang for overnight.

Day 04

Trek from Kutumsang to Thadepati (3690m/12106ft) – 6 hrs

From Kutumsang it’s all the way up to reach Thadepati covering 1200m raise in an altitude. In between, we will have our lunch break at Mangengoth (3420m) and continue. Thadepati will be welcoming us with beautiful sunset view over Jugal and Numbur Himal (Mountains) and panoramic view of Helambu valley.

Day 5

Trek from Thadepati to Tarkeghyang (2600m/8530ft) – 6 hrs

Today, we continue our trek walking through Rhododendron and pine forest with a beautiful view of Helambu valley below. After passing villages Melamchigaon village and crossing Melamchi River, reach to Tarkeghyang for overnight stay. It is a beautiful Sherpa village with rich in gumpa and monasteries and culture.

Day 06

Trek from Tarkeghyang to Kakani (2590m/8500ft) – 5 hrs

By altitude wise, we will descend only 10m low today. So the trail will not be steep downhill. Descend all the way to Kakani passing many villages like Setighyang, Ghangyul, Chimighyang and Shermathang. Rest at Kakani.

Day 07

Trek from Kakani to Melamchi Pul Bazaar (870m/2854ft) – 4hrs. Drive to Kathmandu – 5 hrs.

So now, we have reached the final day of our trekking. Start our trek early morning walking all the way downhill till Melamchi Pul Bazaar with beautiful view of terraced farming and mountains. Have lunch at Melamchi and drive to Kathmandu by private tourist vehicle, which will be waiting for us.

Day 08

Sightseeing day

Am: After breakfast, proceed for a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu City. It includes visit to the Hanuman Dhoka (Kathmandu Durbar Square) – an ancient durbar (palace) with its numerous old palaces, temples and pagodas, the Temple of Living Goddess “Kumari”, and the Kasthamandap Temple, which is believed to be constructed from the wood of a single tree from which Kathmandu derives its name.

In addition also visit   the Boudhanath Stupa – an ancient colossal stupa and the center of Tibetan Buddhism in the world and the Pashupatinath Temple- the Temple of Lord Shiva situated on the bank of the holy Bagmati River.

Pm: After lunch drive up to the Swayambhunath Stupa situated atop a hill from where you could get a bird’s eye view of Kathmandu Valley. The Swayambhunath Stupa is also known as the “Monkey Temple”!!

Day 09

Final Departure

Free for final minute packing and shopping until transfer to the airport for final departure. (Breakfast  Included)
