Langtang region has exceptional natural beauty with combination of cultural and religious assets. Several glaciers lakes including Gosaikunda, Dudhkunda and Parvatikunda, mountain ranges, Tibetan origin Tamang culture and lifestyle along with the stunning views of Langtang Lirung(7,227m), Dorje Lakpa(6,966m), Shishapangma(8,013m) are the major attraction of this trek.


Itinerary
Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400 m / 4,593 ft.)

Upon arrival in Katmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport, meet, assist and transfer to hotel for room check in. Free Rest of the day till dinner.

Eve: Welcome dinner at Authentic Nepali restaurant with culture program.

Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02

Gear Check & Orientation in Kathmandu (1,400 m / 4,593 ft.)

Day is free in Kathmandu for rest, last minute shopping, gear check and Trek / Climb Orientation in Kathmandu.

Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 03

Drive to Syabru Besi (1462 m/ 4,796 ft)

Drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi (1462 m) which takes about 7-8 hours.

Upon arrival, disembark from the vehicle and head straight to camp to be welcomed by the Sherpa team waiting with refreshment snacks.

Day 04

Trek to Lama Hotel (2500 m/ 8,202 ft) – 6 hours.

Follow the route at the left bank of Bhote Koshi for about 15 minute and then enter a narrow path to the right of the route. Follow this path and head towards Sherpagaon and further up to Lama Hotel.

The path is quite easy after enter into the cultivated fields and then climb to the Village of Kakdinma, a village of 15 houses with Tibetan culture. Continue to climb, the elevation gradually increases as well as bhote koshi becomes far below and Ganesh Himal appears to the near. After some walk we will reach the ridge called Bhanjyang, a small grassy place which is excellent for rest and to enjoy the surrounding the mountain scenery. This is an end of long arduous climb from the bank of Bhote Koshi.

Descend down to the mountain path, views of the Gosaikunda Himal appear ahead and row of houses of Syabru Village in opposite bank. Further descend through the main ridge and come to a small mountain village of Sherpagaon. From here, continue to descend down to Langtang Khola and after passing the cattle pastures join the main trail from syabru. Thereafter simple follow the langtang Khola along a gentle climb to the settlement of Lama hotel.

Day 5

Trek to Langtang valley (3,425 m/ 11,236 ft) – 6 hours.

Enter a forested area from which you occasionally catch glimpses of Langtang Lirung through gaps in the trees. It is more a gentle ascent but at places there are some very steep ascents during which the elevation gradually increases. After an hour’s trek the trail crosses to the north bank of the river and climbs steeply for an hour up through the Langtang gorge before the ascent eases and the valley widens out into an area of fir and rhododendron. Climb a short steep hill from the river path and the valley widens and soon arrives at Ghoretabela (3010m).. We shall stop for lunch here. From Ghoretabela, pass through the cultivated fields which dot the landscape and after a short while, cross a steep hill. The forested zone ends and now follows a gently sloppy path amid low shrubs to emerge to grassy fields. The Village of Langtang appears with the outline of Ganchempo (6387m) behind it. Climb the gently rising grassy area and pass below a monastery to enter Langtang, a large Sherpa village, where the houses are enclosed by stonewalls.

Day 06

Trek to Kyangjin Gompa (3840 m/ 12, 598 ft) – 4 hours.

Set out through the village and after a short climb arrive at a chorten. From this point there is an amazingly long mani stonewall which is truly a memorable sight. Continue along a gently sloping path atop terraced hills and after passing two villages the valley widens and becomes U – shaped. The trail enters a level, dry riverbed and after crossing the flow from the Lirung Glacier, visible on the left side are the Kimshun (6745m) and Yansa Tsenji (6543m). Cross an old lateral moraine and arrive at Kyanjin Gompa. Out here there is a Government rest house, cheese factory and a monastery. From Kyanjin, there are 180-degree views of the mountains at eye-to-eye level, which is simply breathtaking. Trek duration 3 Hrs. 

In the afternoon, you have the option to rest amidst the mountain scenery or climb the northern flank of the Chair Pooch Peak (4000 m). From the peak you can watch the views of the Langtang Lirung (7,245m) and the Ganesh Himal in the west and the Ganjala Himal in the south and a view of the pass crossing which leads to Helambu .

Day 07

Acclimatization Day at Kyangjin Gompa (3840 m/ 12,598 ft).

This day is for acclimatization. You have the option to hike either to the foot of the Langtang Lirung glacier or to Langsisa glacier. Full day excursion for Kyanjin Gompa / Langshisa Glacier / Kyanjin Gompa. From Kyanjin Gompa enter a wide alluvial delta. Cut across the gently undulating surface and cross a stream to arrive at an airstrip from which the entire outline of the Langtang Lirung can be appreciated. Pass the airstrip and follow the river as Langshisa Ri (6427m) appears at the far end of the valley while the form of gangchempo on the opposite bank is transformed. Climb the rocky terraced hills from the river path and arrive at the stone huts of Jatang.

Beyond Jatang, descend once more to the dry riverbed and then return immediately to the terraced hills to see the terminal moraine of the Shalbachum Glacier pushing into the valley. Just before this moraine is Nubamatang with its five stone huts. Cut across the grassy fields and climb the terminal moraine diagonally for a grand vista – Directly ahead in the wide mountain valley are Pemathang Karpo Ri (6830m), Triangle and Pemathang Ri (6842m), to the right is Langshisa Ri. Descend to Langshisa Kharka (4125m) for views of Kanshurum (6078m) and Urkinmang (6151m) at the far reaches of the Langshisa Glacier.

Day 08

Trek to Yala Base Camp (4,800 m/ 15,748 ft)- 6 hours

Continue to follow the route that goes over the rocky glacier and ascends gradually to the Yala Base Camp.You will explore the view of Naya Kanga, Yala Peak, langtang Lirung and other surrounding high peaks. Here we setup our camp and do basic climbing training activities to prepare for next day Summit.

Day 09

Summit to Yala Peak and descent down to Base Camp.

We will start an early morning climbing, because strong winds at afternoon can create obstacles to making impossible to climb. Following the guidance and instructions of climbing guide with proper equipment we ascent to the summit of Yala Peak. From the Summit we explore the breathtaking views of Dorje Lakpa, Langtang Lirung, Naya Kanga, Shishapangma and several snow-capped high peaks. After the successful endeavor to summit of the peak, we will walk down then to the base camp for the overnight.

Day 10

Contingency Day in Case of delay.

Contingency day in case of delay, sometime bad weather or any other unforeseen circumstances make impossible to climb in planned day.

Day 11

Trek back to Kyanjin Gompa- 5 hours

After reaching the summit of Yala Peak, we will backtrack to the Kyanjin Gompa following the same trail.

Day 12

Trek back to Lama Hotel- 4 hours

After breakfast, trek down to the lama hotel.

Day 13

Trek back to Syabru Besi- 5 hours

After breakfast, trek down to Syabru Besi.

Dinner and Overnight teahouse lodge. 

Day 14

Drive back to Kathmandu

After breakfast, meet waiting vehicle and start 9 hours drive to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, check in at a hotel. Rest of the day is free for most deserved rest and relaxation.

Day 15

Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour.

Am: After breakfast, proceed for a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu City. It includes visit to the kathmnadu Durbar Square, Bouddhanath Stupa and Swayambhunath stupa.

Hanuman Dhoka (Kathmandu Durbar Square) – an ancient durbar (palace) with its numerous old palaces, temples and pagodas, the Temple of Living Goddess “Kumari”, and the Kasthamandap Temple, which is believed to be constructed from the wood of a single tree from which Kathmandu derives its name.

In addition also visit   the Bouddhanath Stupa – an ancient colossal stupa and the center of Tibetan Buddhism in the world and the Pashupatinath Temple- the Temple of Lord Shiva situated on the bank of the holy Bagmati River.

Pm: After lunch drive up to the Swayambhunath Stupa situated atop a hill from where you could get a bird’s eye view of Kathmandu Valley. The Swayambhunath Stupa is also known as the “Monkey Temple”!!

Overnight at hotel.

Day 16

Final departure from Nepal.

Check out from the hotel and meet Himalayan Holidays representative and transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu for final departure.

Day 17

Free Departure.

Free until final departure transfer to Kathmandu International Airport.
