This trek is start in the capital city Kathmandu; from where you will drive to Bharkhu village via Dhunche, the starting point of the trek. After meet with trekking crew, start trek to syabrubesi- interesting village on the banks of the Bhote koshi River. The trail gets elevated to Ghoretabela through bamboo and rhododendron forest, where you catch the glimpses of Langtang Lirung (7,200m/23,622ft). from Ghoretabela, trek pass through cultivated fields and steep hill towards Langtang valley. After exploring langtang valley, we will reach the Sherpa village of kyanjing Gompa (3,840 m / 12,595 ft), where you will experience the spiritual lifestyle of Buddhist monks. We will spend one day in Kyanjin Gompa with exploration of Langshisa glacier, Langshisa Ri, jatang, etc with overnight at tea house lodge. After that we will descend down to Syabrubesi besi via Ghoretabela. Next day we will trek to Singh Gompa (3,250 m / 10,660 ft.) and then to Gosaikunda with rhododendron covered mountains. After that we trek to chisapani via Bhirkuna Phedi  and then next day we will drive to Kathmandu.


Itinerary
Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon arrival in Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport, meet Himalayan Holidays representative, assist and transfer to the hotel. At the hotel’s lobby welcome refreshments will be served and room check in assistance provided. Shortly afterwards there will be a trek/ tour briefing at the hotel’s lobby.

Eve: Welcome dinner at Nepali restaurant featuring cultural program.

Day 02

Sightseeing tour of Kathmandu

Am: After breakfast, proceed for a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu City. It includes visit to the Hanuman Dhoka (Kathmandu Durbar Square) – an ancient durbar (palace) with its numerous old palaces, temples and pagodas, the Temple of Living Goddess “Kumari”, and the Kasthamandap Temple, which is believed to be constructed from the wood of a single tree from which Kathmandu derives its name.

In addition also visit   the Boudhanath Stupa – an ancient colossal stupa and the center of Tibetan Buddhism in the world and the Pashupatinath Temple- the Temple of Lord Shiva situated on the bank of the holy Bagmati River.

Pm: After lunch drive up to the Swayambhunath Stupa situated atop a hill from where you could get a bird’s eye view of Kathmandu Valley. The Swayambhunath Stupa is also known as the “Monkey Temple”.

Day 03

Drive to Bharkhu via Dhunche (140 Km) and Trek to Thulo Sybru (2,250 m / 7,380 ft.) – 7/8 hrs.

After early breakfast start drive to Bharkhu via Dhunche in a 4WD. Stop for a lunch in Dhunch. After lunch continue drive to Bharkhu village, where you will meet our trekking crew. After a short preparation start trek to Thulo Syburu.

Day 04

Trek to Lama Hotel via Bamboo (2,410 m / 7,904 ft.) – 7/8 hrs.

Descend through the village of Syabru and continue down the ridge until you come to a trail to the east that drops sharply off the ridge and through a dense forest. Trail starts meandering through the cool deciduous forests of oak and maple that cover the lower sections of the valley and climbs through massive stands of spruce, fir and blue pine. Towering walls close in and your paths will skirt precipitous drops, which fall into a silt-laden river below. Cross a bridge (1960m) over a tributary of the Langtang Khola and then climb up from the river and in an hour, shortly after the trail levels off, you join the old Langtang trail from Syarpagaon and Syabrubensi. Another hour from this trail junction brings you to the Lama Hotel in the tiny village of Chongong.

Day 5

Trek to Langtang via Ghoretabela (3,430 m / 11,250 ft.) – 5/6 hrs.

Enter a forested area from which you occasionally catch glimpses of Langtang Lirung through gaps in the trees. It is a gentle ascent during which the elevation gradually increases. After an hours trek the trail crosses to the north bank of the river and climbs steeply for an hour up through the Langtang gorge before the ascent eases and the valley widens out into an area of fir and rhododendron. Pass the Gumnachowk which has one hotel. Climb a short steep hill from the river path and the valley widens and soon arrive at Ghoretabela (3010m). Ghoratabela lies near the end of the main forest area where an army post is located. We shall stop for lunch.

From Ghoretabela, cut through the cultivated fields which dot the landscape and after a short while, cross a steep hill. The forested zone ends and now follow a gently sloping path amid low shrubs to emerge to grassy fields. The Village of Langtang appears with the outline of Ganchempo (6387m) behind it. Climb the gently rising grassy area and pass below a monastery to enter Langtang, a large Sherpa village, where the houses are enclosed by stone walls.

Day 06

Trek to Kyangjin Gompa (3,840 m / 12,595 ft.)- 3 hrs. & Climb northern flank of Cherko Ri (4,984m /16,351 ft)

Set out through the village and after a short climb arrive at a chorten. From this point there is an amazingly long mani stone wall which is truly a memorable sight. Continue along a gently sloping path atop terraced hills and after passing two villages the valley widens and becomes U – shaped. The trail enters a level, dry riverbed and after crossing the flow from the Lirung Glacier, visible on the left side are the Kimshun (6745m) and Yansa Tsenji (6543m). Cross an old lateral moraine and arrive at Kyanjin Gompa. Out here there is a Government rest house, cheese factory and a monastery. From Kyanjin, there are 180 degree views of the mountains at eye to eye level which is simply breathtaking.

Pm: You have the option to rest amidst the mountain scenery or climb the northern flank of the Cherko Ri (4,984m). From the peak you can watch the views of the Langtang Lirung (7,245m) and the Ganesh Himal in the west and the Ganjala Himal in the south and a view of the pass crossing which leads to Helambu (Duration 2 ½ Hrs.).

Day 07

Excursion of Kyanjin Gompa & Langshisa Glacier – 7/8 hrs.

Full day excursion for Kyanjin Gompa / Langshisa Glacier / Kyanjin Gompa with packed lunch: From Kyanjin Gompa enters a wide alluvial delta. Cut across the gently undulating surface and cross a stream to arrive at an airstrip from which the entire outline of the langtang Lirung can be appreciated. Pass the airstrip and follow the river as Langshisa Ri (6427m) appears at the far end of the valley while the form of gangchempo on the opposite bank is transformed. Climb the rocky terraced hills from the river path and arrive at the stone huts of Jatang. Beyond jatang, descend once more to the dry river bed and then return immediately to the terraced hills to see the terminal moraine of the Shalbachum Glacier pushing into the valley. Just before this moraine is Nubamatang with its five stone huts. Cut across the grassy fields and climb the terminal moraine diagonally for a grand vista – Directly ahead in the wide mountain valley are Pemathang Karpo Ri (6830m), Triangle and Pemathang Ri (6842m), to the right is Langshisa Ri. Descend to Langshisa Kharka (4125m) for views of Kanshurum (6078m) and Urkinmang (6151m) at the far reaches of the Langshisa Glacier. Later return back to Kyanjin Gompa.

Day 08

Backtack to Ghore Tabela

Since you will be acclimatized and will be descending, we will trek down all the way to Ghore Tabela through the same trail in a day’s walk from Kyanjin Gompa.

Day 09

Back track to Sybru Besi via Lama Hotel.

We continue keep retracing our steps back on the same trail and you should be able to reach Syabru in another day descending.

Day 10

Trek to Singh Gompa (3,250 m / 10,660 ft.) – 7 hrs.

A hard morning trek up the hill immediately behind Syabru leads to a ridgeline offering views north into Tibet & west towards Annapurna. The afternoon walk contours through ancient hemlock and rhododendron forest to the little settlement of Sing Gompa.

Day 11

Trek to Gosaikunda (4,380 m / 14,366 ft.) – 7 hrs.

Climb a gentle sloping rhododendron covered mountainside from the monastery while looking down on the deep Trishuli Khola. Ahead are the mountains surrounding Gosaikund as the monotonous wide path crosses the ridge summit leading to the mountainside on the Langtang Khola side.

The wide ridge route continues becoming rocky and then continues along the right flank of the mountain in a normal size trail. As one approaches the Trishuli Khola, the slope eases when the first lake appears, at the second lake begin a short climb and then the third lake marks the arrival into Gosaikund. On the Lakeshore is the Lingam and Yoni (the male and female representation of Lord Shiva and his consort Parvati) around which are a few guesthouses.

Day 12

Trek to Ghopte (3,430m / 11,250 ft.) via Lauribina Pass (4,640 m / 15,219 ft.)

Cut across a rocky incline east of the guest house and climb a gentle slope between the lakes to Suryakund or Lauribina Pass (4640 m) strewn with cairns. From here descend a rocky incline and continue along a gentle slope into a wide valley. Though the path is quite narrow it is impossible to lose the path and one soon arrives at Kharka with several roofless stone huts. Just beyond this point the valley deepens into steep cliffs. Follow the up and down mountain path instead of entering the steep mountainside to the left and cross several tributary mountain streams. The slope eases and emerges to a slope covered with juniper shrubs. Pass a stone hut and then climb steeply on the mountain flank, cross a branch ridge and arrive at Ghopte (3430m) with its small bivouac cave.

Day 13

Trek to Kutumsang (2,460m / 8,068 ft.) – 7 hrs.

Descending along the ridge, the trail continues to descent steeply through the forest and passes herders hut to the stream and then climbs to Tharepati for lunch. After lunch it is 5 steep descents to Kutumsang through the beautiful rhododendron forest.

Day 14

Trek to Chisapani (2,194 m / 7,196 ft.) – 7 hrs.

After breakfast, it is about 2& ½ hours to Gul Bhanjyang for Lunch. After lunch it about 2 hours decant continue to Bhirkuna Phedi and it is further 2&1/2 hours to Chisapani from where the view of the Himalaya is spectacular.

Day 15

Trek to Sundarijal & Drive to Kathmandu – 4 hrs.

After breakfast treks to Sundarijal via the small village Mulkharka a small Tamang Settlement there are few tea shops from where you can enjoy view of Kathmandu valley with Last Sherpa Lunch. After lunch it is about 1&1/2 hour to Sundarijal. In Sundarijaj bit farewell to Trekking team and board the waiting vehicle and drive to Kathmandu.

Free until final departure transfers to Kathmandu’s International Airport.
