Annapurna Region

The legendary Annapurna Region in Nepal has a prominent place in the world of trekkers. The Annapurna region maintains itself busy all year, attracting thousands of trekkers with shorter to week-long excursions suitable for all age groups and budgets. You can choose from rewarding popular to thrilling crowd-free paths only in the Annapurna region. The Annapurna Base Camp trip is the most popular trip in this region among travelers.

Colonel Jimmy Roberts officially inaugurated ‘Mountain Travel’ in the Kali Gandaki area in 1965, and the Annapurna Base Camp Trek has grown into one of the top treks in the world. Trails are mild, and you don’t have to worry about food or lodging. Just prepare to be astounded at the Land of Extremes. The blue Tilicho Lake; the world’s highest altitude, Kaligandaki valley; the world’s deepest valley, Mount Annapurna; the world’s first 8000-meter peak to be climbed; a multicultural and multi-religious population; Tibetan ancestors; and poor biodiversity.

Trails pass through tropical, temperate, and alpine drier regions, presenting an unusual glimpse of Nepal’s magnificence. The lake city of Pokhara is an ideal starting point for the majority of Annapurna treks. The trail that encircles the Annapurna Circuit is breathtaking, with terraced arable valleys, racing rivers and rivulets, lush forests, emerald alpine grasslands, cool temperatures, and Thorung La pass (5,416m), the region’s highest height. A full-blooming rhododendron forest creates a magnificent scene of red, pink, and white. The region, which is home to a variety of plants and fauna, is protected as a conservation area.

Trails meander through various villages, providing glimpses into Nepal’s socioeconomic structure, including the beautiful traditional village of Gandruk, which is a living cultural museum for the ethnic Gurung community. From the top of Poonhill, take in the breathtaking sunrise over the Annapurna range, including Dhaulagiri (8167m), Machhapuchhre (Fishtail,6993m), Hiunchuli (6441m), and tiny beautiful peaks. If you want to experience the excitement of the outdoors, the recently opened and quiet journey to Mardi Himal is for you. Get familiar with the authentic Himalayan lifestyle in a desert setting similar to the Upper Mustang trip. Scattered towns, ancient chortens, mani walls, monasteries, and stone castles create a very bizarre landscape. The Nar-Phu Trek takes you to two of Manang’s most remote but breathtaking valleys. Visits to Buddhist and Hindu pilgrimage sites like Muktinath (3710m), Kagbeni, the breathtaking Jomsom, Gompas, and a welcoming community will capture your heart.

The Annapurna region has always welcomed visitors, although the most popular seasons for the Annapurna Base Camp Trek are spring (March to May), autumn, and early winter (October to December). Leeches can be annoying during the monsoon season on most trails, with the exception of Mustang and Nar-phu.
